POPE DECLARES FR MCGIVNEY VENERABLE

Pope Benedict XVI approved a decree recognizing the heroic virtue of Father Michael J McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus. KNIGHTS PICNIC

For those of you, your spouses, and your kids who joined us at our Annual Picnic, we had a great time!  The cuisine was the best ever, with new items such as gumbo, bourbon chicken, BBQ ribs, corn pudding, BBQ beans and great desserts!  Those Knights that couldn’t make it, boy, you sure missed a good one!  Best attendance EVER.

KNIGHT OF THE YEAR

SK Robert “Bob” Ramsey has been the top recruiter the last two years. He is extremely active in the Parish RCIA Program and he is a Eucharistic minister. As Council Warden he has taken the position to a new level of excellent performance. The hall has never looked better. He is the first to arrive at council functions to ensure the hall is set up correctly and the last to leave to ensure the hall is left in an orderly fashion. He reinstituted the 50/50 drawing, raising much needed funds to support our many worthy charitable activities. Brother Bob Ramsey sets a very high standard of dedication to our Council, our community and our Church, and that is why Brother Bob Ramsey has been chosen as St. Michael’s Council #11632 Knight of the Year for 2008-2009.

 Golf Tournament: Mark your calendars for this years' Swing for the Kids golf classic benefiting St. Michaels Catholic School on Friday, September 25, 2009. We will have a great day of golf, cocktails, auctions and dinner at the Doubletree Golf Resort. Sponsorship opportunities are still available!Donations for the silent and live auctions are also being accepted. Raffle ticket sales begin on July 11!
